World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading
The upgrade of an item lets players boost an item's gear rating up 700 points, and then add a bonus. Items can be upgraded by having them in inventory before heading to the kiln.
Certain items can be upp'd to increase their stats (like a perfectly rolled breakpoint armour used in melee PvP) while others like weapons do not change significantly after an upgrade, and therefore aren't worth upgrading.
Weapons
Weapons can be upgraded to boost their numeric stats like the chance to crit, attack damage PvE and damage from PvP. Weapons come with a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. Some weapons also come with an unaffected bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are placed in a group. This bonus can sometimes be more than the damage that a weapon upgrade alone can cause.
A weapon's upgrade costs depend on the nature of the weapon as well as its current level. For instance an item with a rating of +2 will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while a +3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade the weapon will continue to increase until it is required to use the higher level of Smithing Stones, at which the amount will be reset to one.
Upgrades to weapons also change the stats of the base. While this is usually a good thing but it can also have negative consequences as well. In the case of items that only see use in a specific build (Whistant's shield for FB Sorcs, for example), upgrading them may render them unusable unless you get a lucky roll.
Armor items can be upgraded to increase their performance. This will increase the base defense of a helm or chest, while belts and gloves will boost their required strength and agility. Armor also offers a reroll option for its Enhanced Defense percentage, which means that it could change its roll to a lower value.
The upgrade template for a weapon displays the new stats it will get when upgraded, along with their respective values. This means that a change from an 8 attack-damage sword to an 11-attack-damage sword will result in a weapon receiving 3% of attack damage. The 3% doesn't mean that the weapon will hit 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.
Rerolling a weapon is possible by pressing the green button within the item menu with the arrows that are circling. This will reroll an item and alter its stats, but not reset the weapon's levels or connect it to an account's status.
Armor
Making a few improvements to your armor could make a an enormous difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets can offer MASSIVE increases in poison or curse, fire, and magic resistance, which makes traversing tough areas a breeze. Generally speaking, the more defense your character has, the more value you will get from each point of health therefore it is important to improve your armor as often as you can.
You can upgrade your armor by visiting one of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four Great Fairy Fountains available in the game, and to unlock them all, you have to complete an additional quest that involves the Stable Trotters. After you've completed your main quest, and the corresponding fountains, you'll be able to talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the armor upgrade menu.
The amount of materials needed to upgrade each piece of armor will vary. You'll need anywhere from three Red Chuchu jelly and 10 Rupees to upgrade the initial armor piece, and between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade each subsequent one. The Champion Leathers, as an example, can be upgraded to a +5 defense rating, which will allow you to keep up in cold environments with a large number of enemies. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other hand, can be upgraded as high as +20 defense to ensure you can survive a raid with friends.
You can't upgrade armor in the same way as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior then you should concentrate on upgrading your armor for physical power or spell power. It is also recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you'll still be wearing at the end of the story, like the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you'll wear in the final boss fight The Monter Parts Merchant Mask.
You can also gain advantages to your armor by giving the jeweler in Gerudo Town 10 Twinkling Titanite. You'll generally want to save these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to win the game. For example the Longsword or Battleaxe. But it's useful to have a few upgrades to the armor on your chest and helmets to allow you to escape some monsters.
Potions
Potions are substances in bottles that, when consumed, give the player an effect on their status for a short period of time. There are five kinds of potions that have different effects and durations. Some potions may be upgraded, enhancing their level of effect. You can also enhance the effects of certain potions by adding glowstone dust and redstone.
Upgrades to potion cost a certain amount of XP, which can be earned by making them on a crafting table or the chest of the Alchemist. However, the cost of upgrading changes depending on what type of potion you want to upgrade, as well as on the item's Mark Level and rarity.
To upgrade a potion, click right on it in your inventory and select the "Upgrade" option from the menu. The potion table has been rearranged to look more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added such as the potion of leaping and decomposition.
Trinkets
A trinket could be an ornamental item that is small, cheap or piece of jewelry. It could also be an ornament or object that serves a function but isn't important as a trinket. In some cultures, a trinket is used to symbolize friendship or affection, especially between family members.
Players can upgrade trinkets in addition to weapons and armor, as well as potions. They can be upgraded by visiting an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. Unlike other item upgrades trinkets, trinkets can be traded out at any time without losing their status.
The upgrade vendors are located in major cities and the capital of each zone, as well as in some cases, dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are offered with gold, tokens, or fragments from a rare trinket.
Upgrading a trinket is a cost-effective alternative to purchasing new ones. One can upgrade a trinket with just 12 tokens. The new trinket will feature the same base ilvl as the old one, and will come with an additional upgrade bonus of 1.
Once the old Trinkets have become no longer usable they can be upgraded. This allows players to increase their power and value with time. They can be traded among players, making them an alternative to gold.
In general players should upgrade their top-priority items first. For instance when Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tankers, they should be focusing on upgrading their chest, helm shoulders, belt, and helm.
Trinkets are able to be upgraded to a higher level once they are no longer useful and the new trinket will receive an additional bonus of 1% for upgrading. However, a re-upgrade will cause the trinket to be destroyed, unless it is salvaged using the Black Lion Salvage Kit or an alternative salvage tool that is higher-end. This means upgrading trinkets is more expensive than other upgrades, yet is still cheaper than buying a new one.
